Had a bit of a chat while boarding in ADL this morning. Apparently priority lanes are coming to ADL

Yes! :D

You would think they would be testing them in a few cities and then rolling it out across all their terminals.

Normally Adelaide is used as a test market by a lot of companies! They're behind on this one!

I had a good look, as an engineer, at the boarding gates at Adl before my flight on Sat to Syd and the FLounge run. It is a no brainer to do a side entry Priority Boarding lane at Adl. No Brainer for sure. Can't wait for DJ to do this. The only problem is the QF SGs and WPs exiting the QP will never see it as DJ is in the North Eastern end of the terminal and QF is in the South Western end.

There are some gates in MEL with side entry - there's even one where the Priority queue has the main pathway in, and the normal queue has to weave around a large pillar and the seating area!

Exactly. Doing a Priority Boarding setup at the boarding gates QF uses is not that hard, complex or costly to do. All that is needed are 2 poles, one piece of tape between them and 1 Priority Boarding sign as I have posted before. No Brainer. Why QF choose NOT to do so is the mystery as this will not cost extra ground staff man hours nor will it delay efficient boarding. It would however win a lot of SG and WP hearts.
