Hi All

I have a problem with QF and the price promise system. I made a booking about 3 months ago now, and identified a flight that was cheaper on a non QF website. I called the call centre as I didnt quite understand how it worked, and their advice on the call at the time was yes that qualifies and I should take a screen shot etc and submit it. After a few back and forward emails, I have been eventually told that it does not qualify as the screenshot had to be taken after the booking was made (mine was time stamped before). After pushing QF for some time, their solution is to offer me a full refund so that I can book on the original website. Of course the problem is that with time the prices have gone up by a not insigificant amount so I am better off staying with the original booking.

Now I know that the price promise rules are stated clearly on the website (albeit in smaller writing), but I feel that I was let down by the QF Call Centre on this one. If there are any suggestions on how I should proceed, that would be great. I would have made the booking via the other site at the time but for the price promise and the original conversation I had with the QF.

My advice is if you use price promise, you need to have evidence of the price after you have booked.

So what is the time difference? I.e. what time did get the price from the non-Qantas site and what time did you book on the Qantas site?

I dont have the exact times but it would have been within 2 hours, and definately no more than 4 hours between the screenshot and the booking being made.
