I was wondering if anyone knew why there's a price difference for the same JQ flight depending on whether you book on the Qantas website or the Jetstar website.

For example, the Jetsar website has starter fare (basic no luggage no FF points) for $119 but the Qantas website has the same flight for $153 (20kg checked baggage but NO FF points/status creds)

If you choose the Plus bundle option on the Jetstar website (+$19) which DOES give FF points and status credits the Jetstar fare still turns out cheaper at $138 (but no baggage).

For those not flying with checked bagged there's clearly a $15 difference.

The difference is approximately the same as the cost for the checked baggage. Do your jetstar booking with no plus but with luggage, it'll probably be about the same as the Qantas website price. So that's the difference and it isn't really a difference anyway as you're just paying for the checked luggage.

What is the difference in credit card fees on the JQ site vs QF site?

I would be booking it on the JQ site & selecting the plus bundle for QF ff points/SC earn which also includes basic seat selection which you can do then & there & not have to wait until 48 hours prior to do OLCI which is what would happen if you booked via QF.

Also the QF pnr cannot be used to OLCI with JQ so you would have to call up QF to ask for your 'JQ confo nbr' then use that for OLCI or checkin at JQ Airport kiosks.

I do compare then book on Jetstar website. Being registered user helps with booking so email and credit card details are stored under profile.
