Excellent news with both QF and EK (? others) having F flights from Terminal D it makes sense. The current QF lounge is woefully below acceptable F lounge standards IMHO.

I didn't think QF had F to DFW until the a380 comes onto the route...

Is there any mention of what gates at DFW the A380's will be using ie still terminal D?

DFW-D was built with VLA capable gates - and certain runways were renovated/built/rebuilt during the last decade or so to accommodate VLA - they just needed to add the additional air-bridges.

FT rumour indicates gates 15 and 16: DFW to modify gates at Terminal D for A380 - FlyerTalk Forums . That makes sense being at a corner of the terminal allowing more wing room.

And lets not forget there is the "waiting to be developed" Terminal F that is currently a parking garage.

Given that AA are bringing online quite a few 777's with real international F, combined with the AA and US consummation, QF & EK 380's coming online, then BA upgrades to the 380, CX extend their service to DFW, KE already have an F service, we may well see a dedicated International Terminal in the future, whether it be a modified D or an brand new F.

I predict that DFW is a place to watch. From what I have seen (and I have seen way too much of DFW in the last few years), this is an airport that has space, has watched the mistakes of others and plans itself to be a very efficient hub.

Sure that hub assumes you are within the OW ecosystem (excluding KE). However, within the OW ecosystem, it is a shining star.

DFW is designed to be able to expand out to 13 Terminals as needed.
AA used to have a Flagship lounge at DFW, but got rid of it after Delta closed their hub there.

They may open new Flagship lounges. Presently in LAX, ORD, JFK, LHR.

The F/L was closed (absorbed into the adjacent A A/C) when they moved international flights from Terminal A to the newly constructed Terminal D last decade.

The A A/C still has "the best" showers ...
