Need to travel from Perth to Auckland. DJ website offers me a Premium Economy fare through Sydney - no business. Per-Syd on A330. What class would I travel on the A330? Business or economy?

If its done the same way as their long-haul flights then it will be economy.

Short haul and long-haulare a bit different from a fare perspective. From my experience if you book adomestic or international short haul connecting journey where one flight doesnot have a 'Business' offering the fare type will display as 'Premium' however, for the sector which does have a full business product you will be seated thereand not economy.

FYI my main experience has been SYD-BNE-DUD where SYD-BNE is full BusinessClass but BNE-DUD is Y+. Nice deal from Perth to AKL via SYD by the way... it'scheaper than PER-SYD by the look of it!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The OP would have flown by now, but on a dummy booking I did for Dec 1 shows seating in the front (business) on the 332.

This confirms jjsyd's observation.

Unfortunately the flight times didn't suit so having to fly QF :(

However their fare was also cheaper than just Per-Syd! What is to stop me booking Per-Akl via Syd and stopping in Syd? It's quite a significant saving on the normal DJ business fare Per-Syd.

In theory, DJ has the right to reassess your fare and bill you for a PER-SYD flight. In practice, they'll never do this (unless you're a travel agent doing it for dozens of clients - then you might get a phone call). In fact, there's a very good chance you'll actually get awarded points and SCs for the SYD-AKL flight you didn't take (happened to a friend of a friend of mine...).

Obviously you want to make sure you don't have your return leg on the same ticket. If you don't show up in AKL to fly AKL-SYD they're not going to let you on for SYD-PER.

So looking at booking RAR-AKL-BNE, and it gives me an option of "Premium" on "Virgin Australia NZ" 738's. Can anyone tell me what class/seats they will be? And what lounge access (as a DJ Plat)?

I like the DJ on board and ground service generally, but the mess that is the websites that continually open in new tabs, and trying to determine what you get with the domestic/long haul/short (medium?) haul/trans tasman/pacific islands combinations does put me off.
