Hi all,

Anyone know if a Bugaboo Cameleon/Frog pram is allowed as carry on luggage? Most airlines state a collapsable stroller is ok, just wondering if anyone has tried with a Bugaboo?

Flying Qantas domestic ADL SYD
Qantas intl SYD NRT
BA bus NRT LON
Aer Lingus LON DUB

We had the same dilemma and decided that it would be better to take a collapsable pram such as the Maclaren prams, rather than the Bugaboo.. We just didnt want to risk 1000 dollars worth of pram on multiple flights.

If you check it in it will get thrown around. We take a cheap one for flights like this - real cheap, cheap enough to abandon at an airport with no qualms which we have done to reduce luggage. Want a better pram then consider buying one when you arrive. Baby stuff is way over priced in Australia anyway, you'll do much better in most other countries.

As someone to just today had to take a pram onto 3 different flights (NZ + 2 QF's) They will usually let you take it to the gate, and then check it in at the last moment. When we did that we didn't have any problems as each time the pram was there waiting for us when we arrived.

Try not to check the pram in at checkin as your then without a pram (or one of the airline prams which can be interesting to say the least) and we also got our pram back in AKL in a pretty bad shape on the first day.

We have a Bugaboo Chameleon (brilliant pram and well worth the price - not $1000 tho :() and are flying to the UK with a 7 month old in J in Oct and are wondering if the travel bag is worth buying to check the pram and then baby bjorning the little feller through the airport...

Simongr,

Seriously leave the bugaboo at home. Get a forward facing pram one that folds like an umbrella. Great brands such as the Maclaren Quest for example which are built tough and weigh very little. You can at least take your little one in the pram to the gate. They put it under the plane and you collect it on your arrival and use it again. Not as comfy as the bugaboo for them but when the little one is tired he will sleep.

Hey friend.I think they don't allow bugaboo strollers as luggage.I have Icoo baby travel system we bought from icoobaby(.)co(.)uk .As it is totally collapsible it was allowed as luggage.

We have a Cameleon and LOVE it, so it comes everywhere with us! We travelled domestically last month and bought a Bugaboo travel case to stash the pram in (and that was while using the basinet attachment - we've just gone into the seat) and used a Baby Bjorn to get our little princess through the airports etc. It worked perfectly and the pram was 100% fine in the bag, which we checked in with our luggage. We're off to Europe next month and plan on travelling in the same way, it was perfect. I'd rather know she's comfortable and safe in her Bugaboo than buy a cheap coughpy stroller that would only ever be a waste of money - why do that when you have your Rolls Royce sitting at home?!?! :)
