Prices ex SIN seem to have dropped another $500

Unfortunately not for all dates or cities it seems... prices for October (in to London, return from paris) are still in the SGD4000 range. Even more expensive now the AUD had dropped below parity with the SGD :(

I am looking for the same flights in Feb 2016 and they are $S2761 whereas they were $S3287 a week or 2 ago!

$2760 is pretty good! only about $400 more than they were asking before the price increase. but at those levels the AY fares ex AU for $4600 are looking more attractive.

Vietnam airlines is still the winner, but I suspect they'll hike their fares as soon as the 787s/a350s start operating in the next month or so.

Especially considering that when they were charging around $2300 that was around $2100-$2200 AUD. Now @ $2760 it's more like $2800 AUD .....

I returned today from an excursion travelling VN Syd-LHR vis HCM and HAN. Avoid VN if possible. Five of the six sectors were late departures including 8 1/2 hour delay ex HAN. The domestic sectors as well as the HAN LHR sectors were 777 s which should have been refurbed about 3 years ago. The J meals involving SYD trips were good but the other 4 were ordinary to say the least. I chose VN as the 787 was meant to be in service fir my LHR flights but the general organisation of check ins and transfers means that I doubt I will fly VN again. The cabin crew were very attentive but have no knowledge of wine variety or the common names and usage of the spirits available in J.

Thanks for the report. Disappointing you had the 777 - no doubt for the price, the flat beds on the 787/A350 will make up for any shortcomings - you can forgive an awful lot if you can get a good night's sleep! For the price ex Asia (~AUD2000 return), it's probably only about the bed?

UL is having another sale (20% off). I priced SIN-CMB-CDG return in J at SGD2,346. Almost as good as in "the old time"! :)
Must be ticketed before August 24 and travel between September 1 and November 30. (Join in our anniversary celebrations)

Thanks. That's interesting - I've been watching pricing on an open jaw - in LON and out PAR - those fares haven't changed to match the simple CDG return or LHR rtn - at least on a range of dates I've been checking.

The fare for the open jaw is still in the SGD3200 range (after 20% discount), compared to the much lower fares you mention for a simple SIN-PAR or SIN-LHR return (slightly higher returning from LON with the premium tax).
