Just looking at fares exSIN and there's been a pretty massive jump for round-trips to Europe... increased from ~SGD2300 to current ~SGD4000. Not sure if this is a temporary glitch, but checking random dates in Sept and Oct they have all gone to the new fares.

Pricing exBKK seems (for now) to be at the lower levels.

Either SIN will drop, or there is the possibility for BKK to increase. In any event, I wouldn't necessarily be holding out for a 30% off sale.

Have you tried clearing your cache?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

the new fare is also reflected on various OTAs.

I thought that it might be a problem with your computer as the same thing happened to me recently - but the old price was "restored" after clearing my cache/cookies.

If this turns out to be true, then I'm certainly glad I bought one of these fares last week!!

I class to LHR o/w is now 2106.00 SGD base, so definitely doubled in price. Looks like they're clearing out all their good fares, the CMB-NZ fares were the best. ex-DXB is still okay but along with MH you have to wonder how long they'll persist on the route.

It probably got too much attention. Met a UK based guy on CMB-SIN last month saying he books them all the time to get to AUS, thanks to the blogs. ex-BKK as you mention is still around 1000 each way and better for status. Harder to position if you're trying to gets in/out of AUS.

I always assumed that the SIN fares were cheaper because of the very long layover in CMB on the way back. 13 hour connection when coming from LHR.

True - but from Paris (saving tax) the connection was very quick.

Not good news, on our recent Colombo-Rome return, the first leg had only a couple of spare seats, but coming back there were only 6 of us in J.

Last year the load Colombo-Heathrow return was higher, no spare seats going over and only a few on the way back. Both these flights were booked ex Singapore and on those legs there were quite a few spare seats.

Oh well it was fun whilst it lasted, looks like finnair might be the go for us now.

Looking at random dates on Kayak, it seems SIN-CDG on UL is now $3200 return. Cheapest now is Vietnam Airlines for $2200 although I suspect that will rise once their 787's with improved J product start coming online.

I'm seeing the $3200 for Jul/August... September/October are closer to the $3900 mark.

My friends booked the VN specials pdq last night. Reasonable connection times (5 hours outbound and 2 hours on the return), with 787/350 aircraft.
