Possible to upgrade family member with points < T-24?

My sister is flying QF (domestic) today at 6pm and I'd like to upgrade her as surprise (using my points) if possible.

I tried phoning QF and they said no due to the short notice.

Is there another angle I can use? Do I play call-centre bingo? Or am I s*** out of luck?

Would have obviously tried to do this prior to T-24 had I known she was flying.

I would certainly try calling up the plat line again & hoping to get someone different. I have had an upgrade done T-6 before my flight just by ringing the plat line, but the other day I tried again about T-10 & no luck. So bit hit & miss but ceratinaly worth a shot. I believe the upgrade process is started at T-24, any upgrades after T-24 they would be done manually (from what I have noticed)
