Hello ladies and gents

have booked a coupla weeks in Japan late october this year and was thinking of poping over to Beijing for a couple of days but have been rather surprised with the fares i seem to be pulling up.

Delta airlines seem to be the most reasonable at around $500 return (NRT) with average fares being around $1500 mark (ex NRT). If possible i'd like to fly out of KIX (as family live there) but fares are either not available or quite expensive (for what is essentially a 4 hour short haul flight).

If it helps the dates im looking at are:

Depart Japan for Beijing: 18th or 19th Oct
Return to Japan: 21st or 22nd Oct

Can anyone provide me some assistance?.... or is this just 'what it costs' with Delta being the clear winner (which means a trip from Kobe/Osaka to Tokyo before flight).

Thanks guys

Fares are historically expensive on this route (as well as PVG). If you have JAL or NH miles, then maybe it'd economical to use those? To my knowledge redemption rates are based on mileage (for JAL/ NH), meaning shorter journeys have lower rates but I have no recent experience. Good luck.
