Possibility of reaching Platinum

Thank you for the replies.

All my flights are international and very little domestic. My sectors are mainly Asia; although next year I will have one or two European trips.

You are absolutely right though; to see if there is really a need for Platinum.... Tbh, after weighing all the options; prob not.

My long term goal is to reach the Lifetime status Gold so working towards that really.
Flying enough to get Platinum certainly accelerates progress towards LTG.

However there’s always the possibility of changes to the program that could make it harder to reach LTG.

Many were well on the way to BA LTG (similar to QF LTP), but not yet close to reaching it, and then BA switched to a revenue model making it no longer realistic to reach BA LTG.

I am trying to progress quickly towards QF LTG so that if QF does make it harder to reach, I would be close enough that reaching LTG would still be realistic with grandfathered progress.

LTG is mainly of benefit for flying QF domestically in economy or internationally flying QF/OneWorld/other partners in economy or premium economy.

Yes, I mainly fly only One World partners where possible. Very different quality of service, meals and comfort. They tend to go out of their way to make you feel warm and special. Something I am almost always find it disappointing when flying QF.

I just searched on google flight for Manila to Singapore return on CX on a few random dates, and all priced at around 1k AUD equivalent.

You get 40 SC (MNL-HKG) and 80 SC (HKG-SIN) each way, so 240 on the roundtrip. You get full SC rather than half because Qantas does not service these two routes even via codeshare.

Obviously you need to do your 4 Qantas flight as well but I assume you can meet that requirement.
