On 4/12 I got an incentive to book with Ponant (rather than a US owned cruise company) ....

Interesting, thanks ... I hadn't heard of that. Can you post something from the 'Find out more...' (ie how it works). On line I can find discussion of the tie-up, but nothing on Krisflyer or Ponant sites.

There is krisflyercruise, but they list just about every crise line except Ponant.

There are some FAQs at the bottom of the webpage. I have a booking to Antarctica with them but annoyingly it's not retrospective and only for new bookings. Try the link below:- PONANT EXPLORATIONS - Earn KrisFlyer miles

Thanks @Zanzara; sod it. If I’ve known when it was launched, I would’ve had one booking eligible. 😡

My travel agent, however is on the ball and put my KF number into that recent booking but forgot to tell me. 😊

My main issue (fear)with boats is motion sickness. I am exceptionally prone to it and I have not found a suitable solution other than dry land

Sitting in Y is bad for me nor can I sit in the back of a taxi or bus. Even standing in the floating pontoon at Hobart looking at the boats close up was unsettling.

Expeditionary sailings would involve Zodiacs and obviously smaller boats would perhaps have more rocking and rolling. I once tried diving via PADI and I perfected throwing up underwater and would need to be the first off and last on the boat for offshore dives. I did managed to get to Open water cert but was wasted for the rest of the day after a dive.

Spirit of Tasmania has been ok on 2/2 occasions,
Ferries in Sydney Harbour and most recently the Mona in Hobart has been Ok so long as I'm outside. The NZ interisland crossing was a disaster

Big cruise ships with shore excursions are of minor interest if at all.

These exped cruises are attractive but I fear I will be in sick bay more often than not
I feel your pain @Quickstatus. I am similarly afflicted, although maybe a little bit less than you. I had a tough time on the Greenland/Iceland cruise last year (TR still pending). I would really love to go to Antarctica and Seat Friend has asked us to consider going with her in 2028 but am really worried about how I would manage.

Same as Dramamine.
Have tried the "zines" . They sometimes work but often sedating.
Yes and so my doc gave me one with 50mg of caffeine added - which was good during the day but had me totally wired all night as well as very queasy. I have never felt so exhausted - not even with small kids IMG_8006.jpeg

In bed for 14 hrs -asleep for 3 and a bit hours.
