Hi All,

I'm flying United from EWR-SFO-SYD all departing on the same day and same ticket. However, I am flying EWR to SFO in economy and SFO to SYD in Polaris business class.

I am wondering if I can access the Polaris lounge at EWR. The access rules are not clear to me about this.

Yes you can, I have done exactly that before. Both great lounges! Be sure to do sit down dining.

Hi bneslsc,

Did you do this? Any dramas at Newark or just "come on in"?

Thank you,

SBD

I know this thread is about Polaris lounges for international flights but I have a similar question for domestic flights: how does one gain access to the United domestic lounges? From what I can tell buying a first class(what seppos call business class) doesn't get you in, nor does being a star alliance gold member. Am i missing something? These lounges must be empty!

Non UA *G will get you access on a domestic itinerary, UA *G will get you access if its connected to an intl itinerary, You can buy day passes, memberships and a few US United co branded credit cards will get you day passes or a membership

In short yes. The Polaris lounge at LAX T7 was near empty a few years back. Being Spring Break post CoVid, the United Club was manic but we were redirected to the Polaris lounge on an international business ticket on route to Hawaii . Absolute bliss but things have no doubt changed.

Your economy boarding pass for EWR-SFO should scan at the entry gate to the Polaris lounge and give you a green light...that's my experience.
