Looking at making a booking and considering the Points&Money option.

It's roughly 50/50 split between points/money.

Will this count as a qualifying stay? Do I earn any points for the $ component?

Thanks

Yep. It's a stay.
No points for the $ compontent, usually for incidentals though.
No miles.

And would the usual HH Gold benefits apply to such a booking, also, eg. space-available upgrade to a preferred room?

^ Yes, anything booked through a Hilton site includes Elite benefits.

Thanks for the speedy reply! Right, I've booked the Conrad HK for next month and I've now been offered a free upgrade from Superior to Peak View room... My last question (I promise) is, if I accept this free upgrade, would it preclude me from an upgrade at check-in, if available, to something like an Executive room?

No one really knows, but since you get a free upgrade anyway, most don't bother with the NOR1 upgrades and just test our luck at check in. I haven't noticed much of a difference.

Fair enough. Thanks for the insight - think I'll do just that and wait to see what happens at check-in.

From what I've read on many online forums, and actually asking the hotel via e-mail, Singapore Conrad only gives a one-level upgrade to Golds most of the time. I would assume that perhaps that hotel is the same. I am going to Singapore in October and going to purchase a 'Business' room so I can hopefully get an upgrade to an Exec room.

So Point + Pay Stays do not get the 1,000 QF Miles for the stay? :(

Originally planned on using Point + Pay as it would make my 1,861 points redeem at 2.5c/point but now I'm not too sure...

Promo Rate = $247.12
Point + Pay = $139.12 + $61.39 + 1,861 points
(In my case I have 1,861 points and the additional 6,139 points would cost $61.39)

Currently, the 2-3x Promotion my stay would earn 6,795 HHonors points + 1,000 QF Points.

To redeem or not to redeem, that is the question :D

I believe that you earn points on these if you choose the points+points option although maybe someone else can confirm that. I think that you need to make the change before you change the booking though.

Well, I was absolutely delighted to discover the day before my stay at Conrad HK that they upgraded me to a Peak View Suite on the 57th floor! Absolutely fantastic! The whole experience has been brilliant. Not bad for about AU$160 per night plus points!
