Hi Guys,

We are travelling on AA from LAX to ORD (direct) then returning to LAX via DFW.

I cannot find anywhere what the expected points earn will be.

We will be in Discount Y.

I joined my Mrs and the 4 kids in QFF via Woolworths :lol: so I can trf the points when we get home. The CBR to MEL to LAX to MEL to CBR will give me approx 140,000 points when I combine them all. I just wanna see how much, if any, we are likely to get for the internal AA flights. I have status with AA/QF but the rest of the family don't.

Thanks in advance...
JB

Discount Y will earn a base rate of 0.5 actually miles, if it is in a valid earning class, which for QFF on AA are GLMNSV. Your status bonus also applies.

See here: Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions

Hopefully that's the chart you were looking for. It's definitely a good one to bookmark.

Ahh yessss. Thanks Joshua. I will work on .5 for now as a guide.

I did book all the internal flights via AA.com, and I have included our QFF numbers so hopefully all will link up in the end so I can have my free return trip to the US. The best things in life are free, especially when you are above them coulds...

The actual fare class per segment is available just before selecting your flights.

Once booked it is still available.

Look you booking up on AA.com and agaist each segment under the column headed:
Code:
[U]  Cabin  [/U]
 Booking
  Code
You'll see something like:
Code:
[U]Economy[/U]
   Q
(hopefully it's not Q :p)

Went back into Manage My Trip on AA.com. I cannot see the columns you reference. Hmm not sure why not. I do get a message saying 'Limited information as reservation has been ticketed'.

Hey! Hang on a minute! :)

I have checked my printed e-Ticket and I can see what you mean - it states Booking Code 'O'. Is that for "O my god, you don't expect anything for this fare do you". LOL

JB

O is meant to credit for AAdvantage members at 0.5 domestically. So you'd be looking at 1889 miles per person. There's at least a 1000 mile sign-up bonus I know of from last year (aa.com/soccer) still going so you could each get around 3000 miles from scratch.

Might be worth the effort.

'O' well, at least you can access the A/C before departures. Make sure you have you WP card on you. If you do go the AAdvantage route, this can still work.

Maybe the best way is to keep you WP number in the booking until you're in the A/C with BP's and ask the AAngels to substitute your shiny new AA number for the WP number, as you fly one segment at a time.

Cool, thanks for the tips.

O class on AA flights earns 1 RDM and 1 EQM 1 per Mile "travelled"; It earns ½ EQP per mile.

RDM = Redeemable Mile
EQM = Elite Qualifying Mile
EQP = Elite Qualifying Point

And I thought Qantas Status Credits were hard to follow, AA speaks a whole new language.
