Flight radar shows just how many QF planes near the US west coast.

I count a few too many there... Could include codeshares on AA (which explains the one headed towards HNL I assume), but it still doesn't quiet add up.

Are there any cargo flights in there or is it solely pax flights?

Even with cargo flights it'd be too many wouldn't it?

I'd assume only the 747-400F's and 767-300F would be viable on the route and that's 3/4 taken care of.

Currently I can see VH-OQH SYD-LAX & VH-OEI SYD-DFW fairly close together, off the West Coast. Nearer HNL is N492MC flying ORD-HNL as QF7586. While VH-OEJ & VH-OEG are on their way to BNE and SYD. That's 5 taken care of out of 12 :p

Looks like far too many. Can't think of enough routes/departures timed that close together to justify so many planes.

What did hovering over them tell you?

Based on schedules, my guess would be the ones heading eastbound are QF107 (closest to LAX), QF93 and QF15 nearest to LAX and the two further back are QF11 and QF7. Westbound would be the cargo flight operated by Atlas heading towards HNL, QF8 (leftmost), QF12, QF93, QF108 and QF16 in that order.

That would account for all of them.

Just looked at flightradar24 and saw the following QF flights off North America.

QF7554 is the Atlas Air 747-47UF ORD-HNL flight.

There were two QF94's as one was QF94D

When I saw it it certainly highlights QF's services to NA compared to EU. Four ports in the USA and one in Europe. Flights to NA from 3 AU cities versus two to EU.
