Need some help / feedback please
Looking to flry early June, have found the following options:
A - 5 x PE, SYD to LAX on Qantas using classic plus - total QFF points 730k + $1600 in taxes, total duration 13.5 hours
B - 4 x J, MEL-HKG-LAX on Cathay, total Asia miles 460k + $? (unsure re taxes an fees) + $6800 in 1 x cash ticket on same flights, total duration 26 hours
C - 4 x PE, MEL-HKG-LAX on Cathay, total Asia miles 300k + $? (unsure re taxes an fees) + $6800 in 1 x cash ticket on same flights, , total duration 26 hours
The classic plus obviously represents the least value but the least amount of flying and incovenience in terms of time zones and sleep disruption - flying with 10, 8 and 5 year old kids. It also doesnt feel horrendous? e.g. flying direct from MEL or BNE is almost double the points using classic plus
Seeking thoughts on the above and if theres any other options I should be considering?
I haven't tried singapore yet, there looks to be plenty of Air Canada availability but can't book through KF, will call tomorrow to see what is available
