It's definitely maddening. I guess there had to be some sort of barrier to free points. Thanks for the feedback.

Arrrgh I tried and failed. I run start page with ghostery extensions on Yosemite. All extensions have been switched off. I've tried other browsers including the latest windows but can't make it past the authentication screen. Interestingly I used an old samsung tablet and authentication was successful in the first instance. Unfortunately my membership number linked to my partners account on the samsung tablet. I've been in touch with the accor team who promptly communicated and offered solutions. I'll update the thread later. I plan on asking the reception staff to use the app on my phone to check me in. Pending failure I'll keep the receipt for a retrospective claim. WP is achievable if the stars align.

I've downloaded this app, set up account, checked in 3 times at Novotel over last 10 days and the check ins have yet to be validated. It appears to me nobody administers this scheme.

Nice to get the bonus points but not sure it's worth that much effort.

So here we are in 05/2016 and I decided to try the app again.

Yawn, no dice so I emailed Accor days ago and got the following:

In order to make the change for your loyalty card number in places by Le Club AccorHotels application, please follow the following steps:

-Log out of your Places account.
-Delete all your browser history
-Connect with the new loyalty card number.

Do not hesitate to get back to us should you need any further assistance.

I couldn't log in to begin with so how do I log out mate.

That went well.

Funny I've had no problems really with the app, and it's earned me a few thousand points already - helping me attain Platinum status this week. Only glitch is the need to 'check-in' about 4 times to get it to 'stick'. After that, validation has always been within 48 hours. badges awarded immediately and points posted within a day or two. Nice little bonus.

Missing Ibis & Novotel.

Same for me Kermatu. No issues and it will get me across the line to Platinum with my next stay.

A few years ago I tried checking into the Ibis Newcastle (Australia) and it came up with the U.K. Ibis Newcastle - and I now have 6 checkin's for the Ibis Newcastle UK.

the Novotel Newcastle Beach is on the app - but located in the UK - I've checked into that. Just type in "Newcastle" to the location and you will find them. Accor doesn't realise the difference between the Uk and Australia.

Makes you wonder how genuine the 'validation' process actually is! I've had one stay counted twice despite me entering the exact same info (once when in hotel, then again on departure because it wasn't showing that I had registered). Clearly no-one actually checked, or cared.

Check-in from Friday at Pullman Hyde Park confirmed today. I am loving this app it's great for earning extra points.

I think adding new badges would make most sense. Yearly challenges that you can earn every year (eg 5 stays at same hotel; 5 stays in same country; 10 stays at same brand) would be a good way to encourage repeat business. But points offered would probably need to rise given points won't count toward status in future.

As someone who just started using this App and has had multiple stays across different Accor brands over the last couple of months this has been a nice little earner!

I got my Welcomer (50 Pts), Fan (300 Pts), Addicted (300 Pts), Kangaroo (500 Pts), Novotel Enthusiast (200 Pts) and Collector (500 Pts) all in one hit!

It's the easiest 1850 points I've ever earned with and Stacked nicely with the Triple points offer that I forgot about activating for a stay last weekend :D
