Interested to get others reviews of this app. Have been trying to use it on & off for a year. Have had nothing but problems & frustrating attempts to use it.

since joining my number ship number has changed, due to downgrade from platinum to silver, but can't see how to change it in the app
have currently 4 check-ins outstanding to be recognised, the longest is 6weeks waiting
hardest app to sign into. At times you go round & round using the Facebook sign in to sign into the app.

Are others experiencing the same frustrations.
 
nothing to do with their app but their website is cough too and I constantly get emails say Dear Smith (instead of Dear Jane) and then some are Dear Jane - pathetic maybe but it just irritates me from a very large organisation
 
Re: Membership Number i recommend contacting them via their facebook page (instant message) it was the only way i could get it fixed.

Yes the app is not reliable. It takes ages to load locations; it works the best on a desktop computer.
 
App is useless and barely supported by Accor. Every "check-in" expired before they recognized it and my retro claims denied on the grounds they had now expired !! So I gave up.

I think Accor are just aggregating data on customers, this app gives them access to your FB profile, so a big win for them. Not supporting the app means that this data is very cheaply acquired.

I thought this needed an update. Accor finally done something about my complaint about the places check-ins expiring before validation and have manually re-entered all of my check-in history and immediately validated it.
Typical of Accor they didn't even tell me this had happened- I just noticed the points all rolled into my account.
Unexpected and welcome. I just hope that it's not a one-off and the app works from now on.
 
What contact point did you use to raise this issue with them?

Email, no response.
Twitter, got a quick DM asking for details. Replied saying I need more than 140 characters. They sent an email address and ref number.
Emailed again and got a template response after about 10 days.
Tweeted again about cough response. A vent for sure.
Got another DM asking for ref number.
I had given up but replied.

About a month later noticed a flurry of points appear with "PLACES" annotation. They didn't even reply, but at least took action! What a saga.
 
Places is a perfect metaphor for the Accor hotel program. If you have checking still waiting at 6 weeks get in and hassle them. The cut off is 8 weeks, iirc.

Did that whole merry go round of "where's my points", "check in expired", "I checked in during the stay you lot stuffed up", "too late to fix now, it's expired".

Having said that my last 4 check ins have validated ok. But I did check in on every day of the stay and on the departure day. Still waiting for points for 2 of those check ins.

The latest issue is their apparent failure to credit stays properly - 22 points for a stay that should get 250 odd. Places and the Accor program are a frustrating descent into circular stupidity.

The iPhone app hasn't ever worked for me. I checked in using the desktop Facebook app though. Of the two stays, one was validated within 4 days, the other has been 4 weeks and is still outstanding
 
I normally use the iPhone App for Places - check in on the day I check in at the hotel - usually get my check in recognised by the app (and badges where applicable) a couple of days after I check out. I had several stays in the last few weeks and everything worked fine until my last validated stay (dated October 11th) but since then I have two additional stays (October 13th and October 15th) that are still showing as "pending".

As I never had any problems in the past it sounds strange this suddenly doesn't work anymore... is anyone else have problems with Places not validating stays in the last 10 days?

Ironically I've always had problems with the app until last month. Travelled most of October around Asia and each time I checked into a hotel I would automatically log onto the app and check-in there as well. Took maybe 7days after leaving a hotel for the stay to be updated on the app and the applicable badges be updated. That is until the last one. Have been waiting for that stay to register for 3 weeks now and no idea how to get it be updated. Have private message Le Club on facebook with the generic response to wait but no advise how to see if there is any problems
