Hi everyone.

My brother is applying for a job and i'm just after some tips of the type of questions they ask.

it's a much bigger operation than he's currently in. But still general aviation. Not huge planes either, I think J41 size. Similar size to what he flys now.

He has a whole day of testing and interviews.

Does anyone have some examples of the questions they ask? He's not very experienced at interviews with big/more professional companies.

thanks in advance.

Probably a better question for pprune forum.

This forum is mostly populated by self loading luggage, not pilots (although we have a few).

Where to start and stop. (Not in any order)

Why does he want the job?
Why is he leaving his current job?
What are his long term aims?
As with all jobs he can expect to be asked what he knows about the company and the type of operations they fly.
Does he have any friends who do this type of work?
Questions about the aircraft types they operate.
Q's regarding IFR (or) VFR as applicable.
Q's about AIPs, CAO's, CARs
Questions about his previous experience.
What would you do in (pick a relevant scenario)?

I'll try and think of a few more but the questions will relate to the individual, his physic, his abilities, his attitudes, his ambitions and his knowledge.

We always pitched the questions up or down a bit depending on the individuals experience and the position they were applying for.

I hope that helps more than it confuses.

I think straitman has pretty much nailed it.

In the current environment, you may also expect a question/s about:
- Conflict in the workplace (and how you would resolve it),
- Harrasment, bullying, and/or discrimination,
- The company's Chater, or Code of Conduct (it applicable)

Much appreciated straitman and AVC, it really helps to be able to practice some responses.
thanks from my bro too.

He has the interview (and full day testing) tomorrow.

Will report back on actual questions to add to this list, so as to assist others in future.

thanks again.
