Philippine Airlines Delays/Cancellations

PR210 on Saturday 23 April 2022, the 0810 hours morning MEL - MNL, A321 RP-C9935 took off at 0902 hours so predicted arrival is 1513 hours, 33 minutes tardy.

On Anzac Day, Monday 25 April 2022, PR212, the 1015 hours SYD - MNL (A321 RP-C9936) took off at 1145 hours with arrival at 1821 hours, 91 minutes late.

On Tuesday 26, this flight has been cancelled.

Tuesday 26 April 2022 saw PR210 (0810 hours MEL - MNL) airborne at 1008 hours with arrival for RP-C9933 at 1518 hours, 38 minutes late. This is the third consecutive flight that has run about this late.

Sometimes (often?) when PR operates an A321 instead of an A333 from MNL to SYD, it makes an intermediate DVO stop for fuel.

This was the case for the Saturday 30 April 2022 departure, with RP-C9936 as the 2225 hours ex MNL airborne at 2257, but then which took off from DVO at 0114 with estimated SYD Sunday 1 May arrival becoming 1002 hours, 77 minutes late on the normal schedule.

UPDATE: PR212 (1015 hours SYD - MNL) was airborne at 1213 so MNL arrival should be at 1819 hours, 89 minutes late.

On Tuesday 3 May 2022, PR211 inbound and PR212 from SYD to MNL, the latter being the 1035 hours, have been cancelled.

On Saturday 7 May 2022, PR211 from MNL arrived in SYD at 0803 hours, 42 minutes early but the return PR212 (A333 RP-C8780), the 1015 hours did not take off until 1121 so expected MNL arrival becomes 1743 hours, 53 minutes late.

PR212 on Wednesday 11 May (the 1015 hours, A321 RP-C9933) took off at 1113 hours so suggested at gate arrival is 1738 late this afternoon, 48 minutes tardy. On its previous five days of operation, this flight has been more t5han half an hour late arriving at gate on four days.

On Saturday 25 June 2022, PR210, the 0810 hours morning MEL - MNL has been cancelled.

PR has started to use A333s on PR209/210 on weekends, and in early July, this five day a week route becomes A333s every day.

PR212 was again cancelled from SYD to MNL on Tuesday 28 June 2022.

I don't know if this is due to insufficient bookings, unavailability of an aircraft in MNL or some other reason such as the 'staff shortages' other airlines elsewhere, such as BA in London, report.

On Wednesday 29 June 2022, PR210 (0810 hours MEL - MNL, A321 RP-C9935) did not take off until 0935 hours so expected at gate arrival becomes 77 minutes late at 1547 hours. This flight has not had good timekeeping in the past week: most unusually, on Sunday 26 June, it didn't take off until 1842 in the early evening, arriving MNL at 0100 the next (small hours) morning.

PR5211 from MNL to SYD (going by the designation, an amended flight as it'd normally be 'PR211') was meant to be an 0330 hours on Friday 1 July 2022 ex MNL (unseemly time) but took off at 0716 with A333 RP-C8780. SYD arrival should be at 1650, nominally '185 minutes late' but far more if one compares to the nomal PR211 timetable.

PR212, displaying as a timetabled mid afternoon 1510 hours ex SYD is expected to depart at 1730, which seems optimistic.

Friday 1 July 2022 has seen PR211 (A333 RP-C8780, the 2225 hours MNL down to SYD) not take off until Saturday 2 at 0416 hours (yuk!) so arrival is estimated as 245 minutes late at 1355 this afternoon. The same aircraft had been to SYD yesterday, arriving back in MNL (PR212) at 0101 hours this morning, 191 minutes tardy, so it lost further time on the ground in Manila.

PR212 returning today (2 July) is estimated to depart at 1440 hours, 265 minutes behind schedule.

A333 RP-C8780 appears to be on three consecutive PR212 flights (normally scheduled as 1015 hours SYD - MNL) and is continually late.

On Monday 4 July, it is expected to depart SYD at 1250 hours. The Sunday 3 flight took off at 1357 with arrival at 2026 hours, 166 minutes late, which then meant PR211 from MNL, the 2225 hours was not airborne until 0154 hours this morning, with SYD arrival slated for 1123 hours, 158 minutes behind the timetable.

RP-C8780 (A333) on PR211, the 2225 hours MNL down to SYD on Tuesday 5 July did not take off until 0157 hours, arriving SYD on Wednesday 6 at 1203 hours, 198 minutes late. The amended (delayed) time of pushback from SYD was meant to be 1250 hours but that has become a likely 1340 hours, so this flight will be very late arriving in MNL.

PR209 from MNL to MEL, and 'the 211' to SYD are sometimes operating on schedules respectively about two and three hours later than the norm (both are five nights a week schedules) with some flights renumebred with a '5' in front of the '209' or '211'.

On Saturday 9 July 2022, PR212 from SYD back to MNL was delayed overnight. RP-C8782 is operating this flight. PR(5?)210 this morning (0810 hours MEL - MNL) doesn't seem to have yet departed.

Saturday 16 July 2022 has seen PR210 (normally an 0810 hours MEL - MNL) again with unusual equipment in B773 RP-C7777 that took off at 1216 with estimated arrival on a suppoesdly amended 0925 hours scheduled departure becoming 1758 hours, 123 minutes tardy.

PR212 from SYD, the changed 1225 hours departure in lieu of the usual 1015 hours was airborne at 1424 this afternoon with A333 RP-C8783. Arrival should be at about 2031 mid evening, 91 minutes tardy.

Tuesday 18 July 2022's PR211, the 2225 hours redeye from MNL to SYD was formed by A333 RP-C8783 that arrived MNL as PR101 (ex HNL) at 1931, 34 minutes early.

However takeoff was not until 0356 (shocking time) on Wednesday 20, so SYD arrival is an estimated 1323 hours. The 1015 hours SYD - MNL PR212 is suggested as departing this afternoon at 1520 hours, 305 minutes late.
