Pets in the Cabin - Coming soon on Virgin Australia

It’s the noise caused by the airbus power transfer unit (PTU), part of the hydraulics system. On arrival at the gate it sounds a bit like a barking dog. It can be heard through the cabin.
Yep, aware of that. Still not sure then if others are joking or actually think there’s barking dogs in the hold! 😂😳🤷‍♂️

As a person with a significant cat allergy, I’m not keen to have someone else’s cat, even in a container, under my seat. That would set me off coughing and wheezing for sure.

It won’t be! Pet seats will be indicated and you can make sure you are away from them.

That, plus HEPA filters hopefully means no impact.

Maybe, maybe not. I don’t even have to be that close to the cat to react. It’s enough that I would prefer an airline that did not accept cats in the cabin. And if any cat dander gets on the seat, I will react with hives. Cat dander blows around in the breeze, and is very persistent - it adheres to fabrics for a long time unless actively vacuumed up I.Not confident that cleaning standards will be enough for me.

I was on a flight in the US were a PAX with an extreme nut allergy was flying, so no hot nuts in First!

Demand the cats, dogs and ponies be checked!

I don’t want to be anywhere near pets. Have to put up with constant loud dog barking and dog poo in my local neighborhood as it is. If it becomes a problem I just won’t fly with VA. I guess Qantas is going to sit back and observe how this all pans out..
Pet owners are becoming a very entitled class…You nicely tell them to please keep their dogs quiet and they look at you like you're a horrible person and ignore the request...

I know some countries overseas allow pets on planes e.g. the US (where oddly it's law suit capital of the world). But I have to feel for the cabin crew dealing with pets. Humans can be bad enough. Some say pets are better behaved than humans. I beg to differ. Often pets are a reflection of their owner e.g. rude and aggressive etc etc

“Under the new policy, pets must remain contained in an airline-approved carrier that fits under the seat and weighs no more than 8 kilograms, including the animal”
And this box is to be left behind in the event of an evacuation. Simply another log jam....
Every time on a bloody airbus haha
Not any Airbus.

Actually, you can occasionally hear real barking dogs in the AB, if they're carried in the forward hold. They go to sleep after we take the air away.
