Pets in the Cabin - Coming soon on Virgin Australia

On our recent MS J flight from CAI-FRA the couple across and back from us had a cat in a container and had the container resting up on the centre console for the whole time even during takeoff and landing. Maybe it was hungry but for the first hour it didn’t shut up. When meals were served the lady let it out to sit on her lap and was eating off her meal tray at the same time she was eating. I think the passer behind her complained as cabin crew came down and there was a heated conversation before the cat was put back in its cage

Waiting for the first reports of this on VA.

“But my poor little pookie likes to eat at the same time as me”. “He gets nervous flying and has to be on my lap”.

Thank you. That's my point. You can have your journey ruined, leaving you stressed because of this kind of confrontation.

It would be cough....cough on the floor, seats, aisle you name it.
Nah, we now need an onboard loo for pets...

So does this mean some smart VFF member will set up a VFF # for said Mr Pooch/Mrs Pooch/Mr Katt/Mrs Katt??? and the pet will earn VFF points and SC too.

Who will stop if 2 dogs start barking/howling/barkhowl during take off or landing?

Just to get into the modern day offended by everything vibe. I feel offended that my ratty, crazy cattle dog is not allowed to sit with me on the plane. This is discriminatory towards red cattle dogs

Can't wait for the posts here asking why their account has been blocked for breaking the point pooling rules

As usual, The Simpsons has already predicted this:

“Under the new policy, pets must remain contained in an airline-approved carrier that fits under the seat and weighs no more than 8 kilograms, including the animal”

So just Chihuahua‘s and Siberian Hamsters !

VFF status for Mr. Fluffy with perks: free bowl of water, priority boarding, and the right to sit by the window)

So no Russian Fighting Poodles or Rottweilers named Fluffy.

Unless you choose to sit in or next to the 'pet friendly' row, you'd not even know they are there.

As I survived a trip in the USA having a labrador-sized dog on the seat floor next to me, I think I'll survive puss in a crate 15 rows away.

Who else has been pi55ed off by dogs barking below in the hold?
