I live outside Perth-Peel region (in Wheatbelt) and am wondering what would happen with accessing Perth airport to get on a domestic flight during this 4 day Perth lockdown - I heard someone say if you don't get out of your car till you get to Perth airport you are not deemed to have entered the restricted zone and can take a flight, but I can't find anything about this anywhere. Is the airport designated a special zone for this purpose?

I think you would have to check the rules for whichever state you're travelling to?

It's not the rules for getting into other states I am interested in, it is the intrastate rules for transiting from non Perth region via through (restricted) Perth region only to access a flight

Thanks for that. Doesn't specifically mention any exemption for transitting to a flight so guess it doesn't apply :-(

I'd still apply. Common sense should prevail. You have to transit Perth to take a flight. Not like you have an alternative.

FWIW, I flew out of PER this afternoon (to another state). Police at the airport were asking everyone where they were going. If you were leaving WA, there were no issues there.

Hi, are you a WA resident? Are they only worried if you are going to another part of WA?

I’m not a WA resident, although nobody actually asked me this.

They didn’t seem interested in people leaving WA.

At the moment, people from Perth and Peel shouldn't be moving to other parts of the state, although exceptions apply.

Yet they can fly interstate and risk passing it on there, I just don't get it. And I don't live in Perth/Peel but would have to enter region to get to airport to get interstate, still don't know how rules apply in this case

It's up to the other states as to whether you can go there.

Exactly. WA can't prevent you from leaving the state, but other states can deny you entry (or impose restrictions such as COVID-19 testing requirements) at the destination. That's up to the other states.

WA could also refuse to let you back in if you choose to return to WA.
