Personal greetings from the cabin manager - what can you (realistically) ask for?

With greetings, AY has this year done the acknowledgement of the status in a nice, discreet way.

On LHR-HEL, while the FA handed over the juice she added "Welcome onboard, sir, good to have you with us" but I noticed she didn't do that to others nearby.

On a different flight, a senior FA popped up late into the flight to tell when we will land (it was a little ahead of schedule). Again, that seemed one off because she then returned back to the J side. That was an unexpected but a practical way to acknowledge.

Best personal greeting was SQ cabin manager walking from the aircraft door, up the airbridge, saying welcome mr bcons and offering to take my carry-on bag. Laughing I replied that I had managed to get this far but thanks for the kind offer.. That was in J and it really set the tone for a great flt back from Sin.

I spose a gold, even lifetime, isnt much these days, but never got a hint of recognition from staff on 2 recent QF flts in J.

On NZ the J headphones in Y used to be pretty standard, along with a CSM visit and greeting. The BEST interaction was some years ago... when I commented on the lack of Pyjamas in NZ J I later received a very nice light wool skivvy in the mail... complete with subtle NZ logo...and a card signed by the "Concierge" from that flight... LOL I'll be hitting "Elite" again early in the New Year..be interesting to see what the current state of play is.
