Hi AFF Community
Interesting proposal and looking for thoughts/ideas

Needing to fly from Perth to AKL or CHC next February, 2 PAX economy (Business isn't available unfortunately). I have sufficient points to book through Virgin or Singapore and both have availability. I would be looking to fly with AirNZ direct on the B787-9 instead of stopping on the East coast.
Interestingly per person its roughly 7500 points cheaper return when booking through Singapore instead of booking through VA for the exact same flights and this allows for the points conversion of 1:1.3 also the fees/taxes are very similar.

I've noticed being platinum if I book through Virgin I will get 3 bags, though booking with Singapore and being a tasman flight it appears only 1 bag from looking on the website.

Is there anything else i'm missing?

Lounge access in Perth?

How is it viewed when you book a flight through Krisflyer for an airNZ operated flight but want to make the most of your velocity platinum membership!????

Any experiences or thoughts?

Cheers

I would book through KrisFlyer as it's obviously much cheaper.

The flights will be booked under NZ flight numbers, so you can still receive Velocity Platinum benefits (just as you would if booking the flight with VA points).
