I have some bookings for CBR coming up, both are on E170.

These are Premium Economy C&P bookings.

One is a connection through SYD (PE inbound) and is showing on the e-ticket:

Flight No:
Fare:
Class:
Check-in:
DJ672
Premium Reward***
Economy
Virgin Australia
SYD-CBR

The other is a direct flight to MEL and shows:
Flight No:
Fare:
Class:
Check-in:
DJ286
Premium Reward***
Premium Economy
Virgin Australia
CBR-MEL

Is the first one showing as Economy due to lack of availability in the PE booking class or perhaps because of it being a "Capital Connect" Service?

What service level may I expect on these flights (Seating, Complimentary Catering, etc.)?

Neither CapConnect nor lack of PE availability should be a factor.

PE is rarely full on these legs, even at morning or evening peaks. It's usually populated by one or two paying pax with the rest seat fillers from the next flexi fare down.

Your flight ex-SYD doesn't operate every day and is before QF's last jet, so I don't see any compelling reason why there should be a lack of availability in J.

Seating is the same as the rest of the cabin with a slightly higher chance of having an empty seat next to you, a la EuroBusiness.

Depending on how much time they have to turn the aircraft around you should have a pre-prepared flexi meal loaded in addition to the choice of the menu items.

Checking, PE gets 33", rest of cabin 31".

Which classes are PE?

The one time I've flown Virgin since the Capital Connect service launched, it was a predefined meal box. Menu items were not offered for purchase.

I'm curious to see what PE gets, unless the menu is back (I may be able to advise this weekend depending on if I fly Virgin or Qantas to CBR).

FYI, this is the capital connect catering on a morning flight:

I've flown CapConnect and been offered both.

Certainly won't be any hassles on the MEL leg.

I've always flown with the bulkhead on the Embraers so haven't really noticed the legroom difference.

My 2 PE flights have been J, including a SYD-CBR.

Food wise I was offered choice of menu. eat fast.

:D I'd imagine so ! :p

This is not the Capital Connect Service. Did your bookings show on the e-ticket as Economy?:

Fare:
Class:

Economy

SYD-CBR

Yes and no. My award BNE-ADL did show PE, checked that yesterday. The SYD-CBR started as Y but had changed, as if by magic, when I checked in. So it did show economy but then showed PE, as I recall when I doubled checked to see what was going on.

Both were before capital connect started. I'm not really sure about your main question. Was just answering about the fare class.

I flew PE SYD-CBR on a reward set last Friday (9-9-11) @ 11:35am, I received a standard meal box. Beef wrap, choice of water or juice and chocolate. Newspapers were also supplied and another water bottle in the seat pocket.

Not sure if this is what economy pax receive as well?

Cheers,

Matt.

Well, with the introduction of advanced seat selection, my fears are basically allayed. :D

I am only able to select from one of the 8 seats at the front of the cabin for both "PE" CapConnector flights I have within the next two weeks. ;)

PE receive the box (its the same as the Flexi Fare Meal) all other economy guests including flexi's receive the Capital Connect product - the drink and snack (piece of cake or whatever is on for that time of day)

One out of left field, but maybe 672 has been changed to an ATR service?
