I think under the Qantas umbrella the people who are first going to lose their status will be Feb ? March ones next year ?
Not sure if any airlines so have purchasable status so have put this in general questions
Husband appears to need 200 and four flights (wish Melbourne will open ) so is contemplating purchasing another year
Anyone else thinking that ?.
Currently we have an abundance of points

I think QF charges 120,000 to renew WP and 80,000 to renew SG from memory .... in the current environment, you’d have to be mad (or essentially value points close to $0.00).

The value of a such a purchase can only be measured by the benefits expected - without international travel, I can’t see any benefit of status over simple lounge membership.

Given 80,000 points is at least a return J flight to PER from the East Coast, surely paying ~$400 for QC via one of the various discounted schemes would be better value?
