Clearly you don’t read all the replies to your thread
Rather than not reading I would suggest that It’s very easy to miss something when there is so much information there.

Aside, I’d like to thank everyone for the thread as I/we need to get a new PP in the next few months and I now have all the needed info.

Incidentally as I’ll be doing the applications they’ll be done electronically. IF my wife had been doing them she would have started with forms from the Post Office as she really struggles with the electronic versions of these type of things.

Well, actually I did.
And I've just it tried again.
Google just leads to the following three links.

Renewing your passport

Try as I might I still cannot find the page where your screenshot came from.

And neither it appears could the woman at the Post Office, nor the person at the Passports Office who she rang up. She was told that the Renewal Application had to have the QR code scanned (i.e. no mention of a manual form).

Renato

Can you test the QR code by reading it with your phone?
Thanks. I didn't actually try that - mainly because I bought one of those Fitbit type watches a while back, who's instructions were to be found via a link from a QR Code, for which I had to download four or five QR Readers before one finally read the QR code on the sheet - about an hour's worth of frustration.

I figured it would be easier figuring out how to make the print-out darker on the printer, and hope for the best.
Cheers,
Renato

Maybe it was the auspost staff on your wife’s first visit. I’ve sent many clients to auspost to have their identities verified by their forms only to be told the forms are incorrect or don’t scan.

Ended up telling all clients if they go there to stand firm, and somehow we’ve had no issues since.

Sorry, poorly worded post on my behalf.

The link to the information was on the Australia’s post website. I could not find the information I was looking for when I was searching for my solution so tried Australia post site too.

Here is the link

Apply for a new Australian passport

Expand Step 1 Complete your application.

That was good thinking on your part. Thanks.
