My passport doesn't expire until February 2028 but because of the 6 month rule for a couple of the countries we are travelling to in August next year I'm renewing it soon. Given my age etc maybe 10 years for international might see us out, so am renewing it next week after return from Bali so I can finalise the details for that June - July - August trip. Not planning on any travel until then.
My brother who is 4 years older than me suggested maybe just get a five year one. He still travels. I suggested that means for him, he's thinking this is his last time overseas. He then realised his folly in his suggestion.
The EES never worked for me this year. Despite multiple entries and exits throughout Europe, not one fingerprint taken. My photo never worked. Was told to go through manual processing in Lisbon exit and the police officer just looked and waved me through. I was faster than MrP who did go through EES.
