Don't know if 1st Air/Passport Premiere have cleaned up their act but it would be risky to fork over $350 to a company or one of its associated companies that have been alleged to have some shonky practices for over a decade.
 
I've just recently started getting email solicitations from "Passport Premiere" which promise to advise me when business class fares are about to drop, and also that if I sign up I'll get elite status in OneWorld. What's especially odd is that these emails are being sent to an address that is used only to receive mail from one specific OneWorld airline. So I wonder, did that airline give them my address? Is this a legitimate and authorized marketing campaign? Or did they obtain the address in some other way (e.g., phishing attempt that appeared to be a survey or something from that airline)?
