Australian passport with less than 6 months until expiration (but not expiring until after scheduled return to australia). Will I be allowed entry to France and/or Spain? If not what are the options for getting a new passport fast?

I think the 6 month thing varies between countries but you best get a new passport ASAP. I had a friend get denied boarding brisbane-bali because he was under the 6 month time frame.

Thanks for that. What is the fastest a passport can be issued?

I'm actually asking for a friend. Does anyone have any experience of knowledge relating specifically to France and Spain?

From the Visa data base for a AU holder going to France / Spain ...

PASSPORTS AND/OR PASSPORT REPLACING DOCUMENTS MUST BE VALID
FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS BEYOND THE PERIOD OF INTENDED STAY.

Better to be safe than sorry .. The passport office can arrange a passport in a day under special circumstances at a additional fee

There is a priority service available , takes 2-3 days & costs an extra $100 or so.

Thanks all for the help. Ended up being ok as passport was valid for more than 3 months from intended return date.
