Passenger forced to sit on plane toilet

While it does sound like a weird story, and the article only delivers one side of it, it must be noted that the "passenger" was travelling on some sort of staff discount.

And as far as I am concerned, people travelling on those sort of heavily discounted tickets should expect to be treated like staff (maybe even cleaning the odd toilet?) if an unexpected business situation requires it!

Anyway, probably means the end of that staff perk for everyone else at JetBlue.

The way some pax (i would mainly men) leave the toilets, they should be made to sit down in them.

Something about this story doesn't smell right !

And what about keeping your seat belt fasten at all times except when moving through the aircraft?

I would have to agree that he was slightly inconvenienced even though he was on a very cheap ticket. But suing for more than $2 million is way over the top....

Lets (hypothetically) fast forward into the plaintiff's evidence:-

Plaintiff's Lawyer: "Mr Mutlu, were you on board JetBlue Airways?"
Plaintff: "Yes"
Plaintff's Lawyer: "Were you made to sit on the toilet seat during the flight?"
Plaintiff: "That's correct"
Plaintiff's Lawyer: "Did the flight ever encounter turbulence?""
Plaintff: "Yes, continuous and severe turbublence"
Plaintiff's Lawyer: "As the turbulence was in your word, continuous and servere, what did this make you feel?"
Plaintff: "Yes, felt very scared, terrified"
Plaintiff's Lawyer: "Tell us what then happened?"
Plaintff: "I was so scared that I pooped my pants"
Plaintiff's Lawyer: "OMG You pooped your pants?! No further questions, Your Honour."

Defendant's Laywer for JetBlue: "Mr Mutlu, did you sit on the toilet seat?"
Plaintiff: "Yes sir"
D.L : "Do you know what the toilet seat is for?"
Plaintiff: "Yes I do"
D.L : "As you sat on the toilet seat, did you take off your pants?"
Plaintiff: "No"
D.L : "Mr Mutlu, answer yes or no, if you took off your pants like what most people would do when they use a toilet, would you have then have pooped your pants?"
Plaintiff: "No".
D.L : "So I say to this Court that you are at fault for pooping your pants, not that of JetBlue Airways! I have no further questions Your Honour."

(sorry for being a bit creative at this wee hour of the morning)
