Interesting, the HSINN1 code works at the website, but the actual code from the cert doesn't work - says not accepted !!!!

HSINN1 is the booking code (for examples its like say a corporate booking code / AAA / promo code) whilst the code on the certificates is not a code as such, but more of a reference number / barcode number / serial number so that the hotel can reference back to Hyatt Corporate once they receive them.

i thought about that, but didnt want to run the risk of booking with a generic code, turning up to redeem and then they reject the cert on the day, and with them already having my cc details when booking with HSINN1, they will charge it. So have you booked with cert before? and used the HSINN1 or the code on your cert when you received it? because the operator also told me to use the cert code.....

Just booked two interconnecting rooms 5 nights for later this month at Park Hyatt, Tokyo.

I'm a total newbie when it comes to Hotel loyalty schemes......I've always assumed when booking interconnecting rooms, with b'fast & other specials.....in this case - "Park 360 & Family Plan"......it's better/cheaper to book direct with the hotel.

If you join Hyatt loyalty programme can you still take advantage of local specials & reap the awards?

why not go certificate?

I booked before reading this thread. No harm done as it can be cancelled 24hrs out from arrival.

Just joined Hyatt Gold - I have some reading to do.......so, you can use these certificates/vouchers for non-standard bookings I.E connecting rooms, special offers etc?

Well our stay has come to an end & we are now sitting/drinking in the wing F Lounge waiting to board CX161.

The PH Tokyo was brilliant, really enjoyed drinks at the NY bar and the very service driven staff. The rooms & views were excellent.

The only peculiar moment was the rule that everyone had to wear a cap when swimming:confused: Suspect this is a culture thing rather than an over zealous pool manager.

All in all - very nice & we plan to stay again early next year:D

I recently booked Park Hyatt Tokyo over internet at full rate for 1 night only for deluxe twin for myself & teen son. Cost me half our total 2 week accommodation budget but we are totally happy with the experience! Views from all points were exceptional despite the overcast weather. Breakfast and spa/gym (including hire of gear) were included. They offer a shuttle to Shinjuku (mostly for shopping and if you want N'ex, and don't know the station layout, then a taxi would be worthwhile.

I am going to be in Tokyo in June and looking forward to staying at the Park Hyatt. Was going to book through Amex FHR at what would presumably be a very painful rate, but then I discovered that you can buy "Inspire" stay certificates for $318 USD which are apparently valid for that hotel.

This works out to be 30-40% cheaper. Am I right in thinking too good to be true? If it works then would also be good for the Park Hyatt Sydney.

I just done this a month and a half ago. The PH is very far from everything and I actually ended up using the remaining cert's I had at the GH in ropogei. And the lounge was very nice and the swimming area is good as well. It's actually inside a shopping centre and right above the train station. Ring HGP and request a diamond status trail before you go and you can use the cert's and also they will give you lounge access and some welcome cookies ;)

Sorry, dumb question but hoping someone who has redeemed the certs can help me.

I need to book two rooms at the PH. I assume i need to do two transactions.

How do i book? can i use HSINN1 then turn up with the cert on the day? or they take out from my credit card then refund me once i produce the cert?

Is that code the same for any inspire one nighter? or if i use that code now, when my cert turns up, it will have a different code?

Never done this before so just wanted to know how to do it properly. Thanks for any advice :)

p.s. its funny how this link doesnt have PH https://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/search/....jsp?N=489&Ntt=Tokyo, Japan&_requestid=159303

You need present the cert's on arrival they will ask you for them at the desk. Although another friend of mine who I booked a inspire cert with forgot his cert so he paid the full price and then posted the cert to them later at which they refunded him back. I was on a roll for a while redeeming and helping others redeem these at PHS . I was buying 20 at a time and it took a while to arrive maybe a few weeks but definately not 3 days.

If you book three nights under the inspire cert you will need 3 cert's on arrival.

Can you provide more feedback on your stay at the Park Hyatt? I've got five nights in Tokyo next September and I'm deciding between the Park and the Grand, or a combination of both.

I can help you with that.

I did a TR here http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ip-photos/hong-kong-tokyo-day-trip-44095.html

We also stayed 5 nights with two connecting rooms......Park View connecting to Park Twin. Plenty of photos for you to get an idea of the rooms/view. The kids (twin) had a better room & view IMO.

Fantastic stay and look forward to the next one.

Also stayed at the Park Hyatt for one night in April. Loved it and we are heading back for 5 nights next month (using the certificates). The gentleman thinks it is the best hotel we have ever stayed at and is super excited to be heading back.

Is the Park suitable for a first time Tokyo visitor who has no interest in the cultural things (eg. museums, art galleries) but more interested in the everyday things? (For example, when I go to New York I go to the Empire State Building and Central Park, not MOMA; in Paris it's the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre.)

When I was in Tokyo, I stayed at both the Hilton and the Park Hyatt. They are both in Shinjuku and seemed central enough. It's easy to get around by train in Tokyo, so unless the majority of places you want to visit are in one suburb, Shinjuku and the Park Hyatt are good! The staff were very helpful, the food good and the views are great!

Happy to answer any other questions you may have (if I can) :)

There is nothing wrong with the PH it's just a pain to get . The room and view and pool was all good. Breakfast was good as well. But I choose the grand Hyatt because of the lounge access for the kids and the location .

I also stayed at the intercontinental strings and the Conrad . The lounge at the Hilton is also good and close by the train station and monorail to the odaybar. It really depends on who you are travelling with and the price I guess.

Both Hyatt I used the cert , the Intercon was for free and the Conrad I used 16k plus $90 I think before the devaluation .

Also if I was going again this is what I would do . I would ring HGP ask for a diamond trail then book a park king . Then ring and submit a Brg . Once that's approved I would call a week or two later and submit a Brg for the stay .

I just done this for a friend of mine and the price came down to cheaper then the cert . And if you have a paid stay you can earn points and also deploy a SU

im a freaky genius

Yes. Tokyo is huge so it's a impossible to select a location that is central to everything. The rail system is extensive and extremely easy to use......it's the best way to get around the metropolis.

We found the location excellent and the walk to the train station is easy and quick. There is plenty to see and do around Shinjuku and it's an easy walk to Yoyogi Park and Shibuya.

FWIW the other area we found interesting is Marunouchi. Four Seasons & Peninsula are located here. Once we blow all our HG points I think the Pen will be the next place to drop the bags:cool:

It appears you are right. Apparently quite a few changes to both eligible hotels and certificate prices went through on 29 August.
