I am going to be in Tokyo in June and looking forward to staying at the Park Hyatt. Was going to book through Amex FHR at what would presumably be a very painful rate, but then I discovered that you can buy "Inspire" stay certificates for $318 USD which are apparently valid for that hotel.

This works out to be 30-40% cheaper. Am I right in thinking too good to be true? If it works then would also be good for the Park Hyatt Sydney.

Thanks for this post - got me thinking on my up coming trip and the chance I could be staying at a Hyatt

Yep that's correct. Inspire level awards are bookable at the PH Tokyo. Enter the below code on the reservations page under Special Offer Code to see if the dates you require are available. [Inspire Level (US $319 per night) Code: HSINN1 ]

I just tried a random date in October and was available :)

Is this open to anyone?

I tried to buy these certificates online, but they did not go through (3 or 4 months ago). So I called. The person could not help me, and suggested I email them, or else call at a time when there are some more senior staff around. I sent an email but did not get anything back. I did not bother any further, and booked elsewhere.

Anyway, that was my one off experience with certificates.

This shows PHT takes inspire but havent worked out how to check availability before the plunge tho......

See below, or read up-thread ;)

thanks for that. I missed it completely.

Thanks to this thread I have just booked 4 rooms for our 1 night stay in August at the Grand Hyatt Dallas fort worth international airport - the vouchers were $185 each and postage (they actually send you something that you have to show) was $25. Got it around $15 cheaper then the AAA discount.

How long did it take to received the cert?

From purchase to ticket arrival was 3 days........I was on the phone that night and made the reserverations.........very quick

Sorry, dumb question but hoping someone who has redeemed the certs can help me.

I need to book two rooms at the PH. I assume i need to do two transactions.

How do i book? can i use HSINN1 then turn up with the cert on the day? or they take out from my credit card then refund me once i produce the cert?

Is that code the same for any inspire one nighter? or if i use that code now, when my cert turns up, it will have a different code?

Never done this before so just wanted to know how to do it properly. Thanks for any advice :)

p.s. its funny how this link doesnt have PH https://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/search/....jsp?N=489&Ntt=Tokyo, Japan&_requestid=159303

I ordered all four certificates at once (as they charge $25 for postage I am kicking myself I didn't grab more as they don't expire)

So go online and order your certificates from hyatt - they charge you immediately - they then post the certificates with codes to you.

I just rang the australian call centre - told them the hotel and dates - they asked for the codes and I booked - all four codes are different.

I then have to produce the certificates to the hotel at check in.

Call the reservation line to ask prior to purchase that the hotel will take certificates and what level of certificate is required and if there is availability for the dates you want.

3 follow on questions.

1. so what is HSINN1 for then?
2. if i call and they say i cant use it for PH, although online you can, where does that leave me? i assume just go ahead and book online with the codes? (but might not work, although HSINN1 works, but now i dont even know what this code means esp you said you get an unique code per cert)
3. postage is $25 flat? can you buy it on an aud/oz website or just have to pay the foreign currency.....?

1) I am assuming HSINN1 - is just to look to see if there is availability - I don't know if you would be able to book using that code - Anyone else on this one??

2) I don't know why the would not let you to do it on the phone - however I would call and ask. IF you can only book on the website I would wait for your codes to arrive then book

3) yes flat - no I had to buy it on their international site (couldn't even buy it from the call centre here) and yes foreign currency *HYATT GIFT CERTIFICATE OMAHA NE US Dollar 765.00*

1) I didn't go all the way through, but i got to the credit card section, so i assume you could. But dont want to turn up and they say umm... your cert has different code, full price thanks....

2) Thanks :)

3) *** sigh*** but still a bargain if you use the certs right... right? ! :)

Thanks for your help deejo77!
