Paris Lunch Sat 6 April 2024

@LinaLee and I have had a discussion about the location. We are both agreed that it was the original premise of the trip, and confirm that Les Deux Magots is where lunch will be.

For those who are not so keep on waiting for a table, there is a cafe nearby where you can wait. @LinaLee and I are happy to queue up and text when a table is ready. Hopefully we will get in at the end of the breakfast crowd, before the lunch crowd builds up.

Getting a booking was always going to be a bonus, as we did not consider we would have got to nine attendees. So we figure nothing lost!

Closer to the day I will get local contact numbers from everyone so we can "synchronise our watches". For those who have it, my +61 mobile number remains unchanged.

I'll be raising a Philly cheesesteak sambo in honour of the group, whilst y'all raise a glass!
 
An update. I’ve managed to convince the restaurant to make a very special exemption to take a booking for us in the historic dining room for 10 persons on the basis of @Larko1 being Gold. We just need to prepay a 200euro deposit for now which I’m going to do so shortly on behalf of anttendees for now. I also opted for ala carte in my response to cater to various food preferences of the group.

Hope that makes it all perfect for our gathering now.

I am currently planning a trip to AMS but would book flights via Paris if this is still on and train to Amsterdam next day as target date for AMS is 9-11 April. Is it still on? Does 1 more help or hurt your plan?
 
Your attendance would be more than welcome!

We are at 9, so an extra one makes us the required 10. Although if we were at 10, an extra wouldn't have hurt anyway.

Locking in flights so can I get a final update on place and time please. I will look for accomadation nearby as my usual is other side
 
Just checking if anyone at the lunch wants some Swiss francs cash otherwise I’ll use them for my last dinner in Switzerland
