So, OT but upping the game. Has anyone received the latest amenity kit for J? Seriously, it looks and feels so cheap. On the flights in the last two weeks. Both ways, most were left behind. Compare them with Emirates and Qatar and it's a miserable fail yet flight costs are similar.

Has it changed? I got one a few weeks ago which was the Asian anniversary one (Singapore on one side and Tokyo on the other). Very standard contents.

It’s no EK but still better than most other oneworld airlines I’ve flown this trip (JL, BA & AA).

I have flown EK this trip and while their amenity kit was good there’s a lot more substantial aspects of the service I’d rank far below QF. I don’t typically use the contents during the flight, but I find a lot of good uses for the container. Historically I’ve always found the QF kits quite stylish - I think the Kate Spade era was the best but the current lot isn’t bad.

Every leg of my QR flights I get a Dyptique Eau d’toilette spray. I take them but just put them aside. When I visited family in Brisbane, they nearly fought over them to get them. Good stuff apparently.
Rest of the contents is a bit meh (standard socks, earplugs and moisturisers) but the actual container is double zipped and actually handy. I’ve adopted it for my short domestic trips like at the moment.

Those perfume cylinders are wonderful. I'd fight for them too. I have a few and use very sparingly. The containers too are memorable. The Qantas ones? Texture Feels unpleasant and cheap manufacture.

What’s the specific kit you have a problem with? Have you got a photo?

Not my photo but from a FB page. There are four in the series I think. I don't have mine with me right now.

Oh yeah I got one of this trip (referenced above), Singapore on one side and Tokyo on the other. I think it’s really cool and I was glad to receive it as I’ve got quite a few of the normal ones. They’re limited edition to celebrate 90 years of international flying. https://www.qantasnewsroom.com.au/m...the-world-closer-for-millions-of-australians/

I don’t have a problem with the texture but that’s just because they screen printed them like a stubby holder. Again, I really like them.
