There are many commercial composting collection services out there, which can include food waste composting collection too. It wouldn't be too hard for Qantas to implement, that is if reducing their environmental impact is their true objective, rather than cutting costs

Agreed re the 'woven paper' towels; a lifesaver in many instances confronting travelers.
I guess if QF thinks they cannot afford paper towels, (or decent dunny paper for that matter), perhaps they oughtta cease the pretense of being a premium long haul carrier and install vending machines for those of us who would rather 'spend a penny' than spend half an hour pointlessly waving our hands under the infernal noisemaker (only to then hafta use our pants or dress to complete the exercise).
I am certain from long observation that the installation of 'dryers' has had a deleterious impact on the hygiene habits of airport patrons.

The Dyson air dryers are efficient and quick, and I do like to use them. However, I miss the paper towel for drying the vanity surface after washing my hands, or before brushing my teeth so the area is dry. Paper towels were also good for use after brushing teeth. Now I have to make sure I have tissues at hand, especially as they have also disappeared!

I can understand why as air dryers are so much more effective and a lot quicker than drying hands with a paper towel.

Except the reason they were dropped since 2021 was the easy spread of germs. I was glad to see paper towels have a resurgence during COVID and for all the same reasons I would hope they will stay.

Really! I hate those hand dryers. I used the paper towels to dry my hands and then open the bathroom door with them to reduce the chance of spreading germs. Stop penny pinching QA!

It would be a cool point of difference with other lounges. Though realistically, as a first lounge, that would be the first step IMHO.

The best health practice is to use one use paper towels. Any germs on the body will be just spread by the air as it comes out of the dryer. Dr Norman Swann from the ABC and I had a discussion on this. He agrees with the above.

Many people don't fully dry their hands under a drier then open the exit door with wet hands. is that hygienic? Also you can rinse off your face because you can dry it without paper towels. Perhaps you could use the shower room?

In e.g. MEL there is paper towel in the shower room, but in ADL which was recently refurbished there is a hand dryer even in the shower room though you could use the bath towel or bath mat just to dry your hands or rinse off your face.

When shower rooms are next refurbished unless QF listens to customers and does a backflip I expect paper tower to disappear there too.

I wish they would at least install hands-free door openers like I've seen in BNE. The door handles are filthy.
