Hi all
I have a paper ticket for my flights back from PVG. I was meant to be flying on Friday on KA803 to HKG in J and then QF128 HKG-SYD in F (woo to the hoo). I just called and changed the flights to Thursday 24 May.
The CS staff on the phone said that I needed to go to the QF travel centre in PVG town centre to get the ticket reissued as he was not confident that KA would accept the ticket coupon. However as KA803 is an 11:30 flight we would need to get a car to the travel centre for 9AM and then get to the airport by say 10:30 (after say taking 30 mins to get the ticket reissued).
I dont think this is even close to practical.
However when I recently changed my flights HKG-PVG to bring them forward by a day or so I just took the ticket to the check in desk at HKG (KA again) and had no problem.
So do I take a punt? Have people had similar experiences? Is it worth the risk. If necessary and we get forced back to the city I will switch to the 2:30PM flight (even in whY if we have to).
If we wait to get the ticket changed we migth miss the earlier flight completely and it will be a hassle changing the ticket.
We are planning to use a hotel car to get to the airport.
Any thoughts or advice?
