Pancakes in QF lounges

Aghast on Tuesday morning at PER. Machine running well but the syrup was replaced with honey. NOT HAPPY JAN.
 
I was disappointed to see the machine wasn't in place on Sunday morning in CBR, but the lounge was practically empty, so perhaps they didn't think it worth setting up.....
I wondered about asking if someone from staff could go into the CL and get me some from there, if they had a machine....... :)

But is it Grade A? Grade B? Light? Dark? Amber?

It's the Maple Syrup festival in Canada in a few weeks - the most delicious of all the festivals ;)

I love those solid chunks of maple sugar they have in the shape of maple leaves. Yum. :cool:

What about Saskatoon berry syryp?

Maple candy - horribly delicious, and horribly bad if you want to limit your sugar intake ;)

Berry syrup is good - no substitute for Maple IMHO.

(And you don't really want to go to Saskatoon do you?)
 
The PER QP has had it's pancake machine returned. Alas it has been 'enhanced' :evil:

What use to be bread and butter plate sized pancakes (say 15-20cm dia) have now been enhanced down to pikelet size (say 7cm dia).

Not happy Jan. Well I was after 6 of them :p instead of 2 of the larger size.

I found the instruction manual online a while ago... From memory it didn't seem too hard to change the settings and enhance it back to the large size (Ensure no one is present before doing so..) And even enhance it further to pump out 7+ pancakes for each button push! ;) Could lead to some confused users and dragons.... :D

I first recall seeing one in BNE lounge at christmas. I haven't managed to try them yet as the line is usually quite long.
 
OT but when I showed somebody in the lounge how to use a pancake machine last week (but seriously, how hard is it?) she followed up by asking if I could make her a coffee and bring out out.

Um, sorry, I don't work here. :rolleyes:

OT again. But I just made a comment to the DJ MEL staff about how the pancakes are much larger now. She said all the customers keep changing the settings and making them larger. Lol.

I think there is a locking option - so expect a new enhancement soon.

If they keep on making it larger, then maybe that's a good sign that they should be set on the larger setting to please more people!
