Pacific Blue to Fiji?

I have applied for the Amex plat reserve CC (as free benefit of platinum charge card) and am wondering if Nadi is one of the free flight international destinations available from SYD?

Has anyone experienced that flight, and how was it compared to Y on Air Pacific? I will be taking Mrs G and 1 yo baby G, and have booked the Nadi - SYD flight as QF J award already.

If it is a free flight the total fare should be about the same as taxes on a QF award for the 3 of us. The other problem is lounge access. I am Velocity Gold, QFF WP, and have priority pass, but it looks like if flying Pacific Blue there is no lounge in the international terminal available - or am I missing something?

That is correct for now, no lounge access for Velocity Gold’s travelling on Pacific Blue from SYD.

No, Sydney to Nadi is not available as a complimentary flight. NZ are the only SYD international destinations available.

The destination guide on the Amex website (look at cards>platinum reserve>destination guide) will show the available destinations. Apologies, as a newbie I am unable to provide the link.

Have a look at FJ also

FJ fares are much the same (and FJ 744 preferable to DJ 737), but a QF classic Y award is only 36k points for the whole family. There was only really value for me in paying $$$ with 1X free flight.

I have a conference to attend in Hamilton later this year, so can use the free flight to get them to Auckland.
