The reference to AJ's book above does remind one of the year they sent us all that very heavy set of books. Was it 2015? 2016?
I got those! In QF binding. Back in the day when I was a P1 (sigh).

So... I'm in 0A,
that's a pretty good seat, although I understand they make you work for it.

I like the new approach. Partnering with a fantastic Australian distillery with annual bespoke blends is more meaningful in my view. Someone has clearly put more thought into it than just raising a purchase order to buy cases of random wine you can get at any Dan Murphys or even thru Q Wine. Looking at just the dollar value seems far more transactional to me. 🤷‍♂️

Plus I drink much more gin than champagne...

Got an SMS and email in the morning saying a Qantas Wine delivery is to be delivered today. Has not arrived yet.

I do have an Auspost account with the same details, but when logging in yesterday it wasn't showing, but now it is.
For those of you who have had notifications, were they on the Auspost website or app?
I don't have the app, maybe that could be why.

I received (collected) my gift this morning from the local post office. Didn't receive any notification yesterday that it was out for delivery. First sign of a delivery came via a push notification at around midnight that there was something from Qantas Wine for me to collect at the post office.

I have an AusPost account and in previous years I have always been able to track this shipment.

I had no notifications from Auspost, but like others it was delivered yesterday and I collected it when I got home last night.

Regarding Vanessa's letter, when can something really be called a 'tradition' as she alludes the gin is becoming? I would have thought we would have needed two years at a minimum prior to noting it is becoming a tradition.

In any event I'm sure I'll enjoy the gin as Four Pillars generally make a good drop. I would be nice if the 'partnership' that apparently exists between Four Pillars and QF extended to the gin they serve in the air rather than the current rubbish.

I also suspect that there are a few reasons that QF have moved away from the Champagne to the gin in the past couple of years. 1) financial results from prior years impacting amount they want to spend 2) the number of P1s I would suggest is still higher than anticipated due to COVID extensions / reduced earning requirements so therefore budget for gifts has to stretch further and 3) a general Champagne shortage that was felt at the end of last year is still having an impact.

Gin delivered, most likely pair with Fever Tree Premium Indian tonic. Choice of tonic to suit one's taste is equally important.

Little disappointing the gin 4 pillars at 50 dollars a pop. Used to be more exclusive. Champagne. Whereas black Centurion card membership gives 375 AUD twice. But there are other offers via Langtons 250-500 on wine or champagne.

My gin finally arrived this afternoon. Got used to being among the first to receive the gift back in Canberra. Obviously takes the slow boat to get down here in Tassie.
