I see Kevvy is having his last strut and going on ad nauseum. Its like he has won.

As Laurie Oaks just said, it was like a bad Oscar speech. Not sure if he thanked his mum and dad though (tuned out). LOL

A positive and classy concession speech by Rudd unlike the sooky la la speech by Howard.

It was a shame about the thug in the crowd at Abbott's acceptance who screamed "losers" when Labor was mentioned. If you can't be classy in victory there's not much hope.

Bad sports aren't limited to liberals only...

The swings say it all really. Not much positive in that for either major party.

Who here has any influence on who gets in on Saturday? Most of us probably live in blue ribbon Lib or rusted on Lab seats so as usual the election is determined by the demographics of a few marginal seats. There really is something wrong with that system and it's no wonder people turn off.
So true.

Today my vote meant absolutely nothing. I live in a safe Labor seat. It was held with a margin of 9.1% and with a predicted swing of 1.1% to Liberals it will still be a safe Labor seat.

Is there a better system?

I was commenting on the boorish behaviour of one person in the crowd, I certainly didn't say it was limited to either side of politics - however it was at Liberal HQ that this particular comment was screamed loud enough to be broadcast across the country.

Seems Clive's $$$ made an impact.

The Senate WILL be interesting to watch, although it appears that come Mid year, Labor and the Greens won't be able to control it.

Love that the Brick with eyes seems to be heading to the Senate.

NSW needs to be taken out and shot for putting in an LDP senator. However, he's probably in good company with Abbott being the first LDP PM.

2 PUPs into the Senate as well

Only the victorians would elect someone from the
Australian Motoring Enthusiasts Party (36% of the senate vote counted)

Not necessarily, you direct your vote to a minor party so the big parties don't get any money from Electoral commission.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

There will be plenty of boats to go around if you change your mind! Tony Abbott, looking out for Indonesian shipbuilders since 2013 ;)

I'll trade you for my place in Curtin? I'm sure life is harder for me being in a seat with a 17% liberal margin!

Indeed. Much as I despair at an even more right-wing Government, I take some solace in the fact that a lot more people didn't vote for the two major parties.
