I'm not looking for a cut in taxes. We are in too much financial debt to do that. I'm simply looking forward to many snouts in the trough being removed and spectacularly unsuccessful and unfunded pipe dreams are scrapped. I don't want them to reduce company tax. I just want responsible government.

So how many billions can we save by not funding incompetent managers who are running car companies?

Not really sure why private schools get millions of dollars either.

The thing with private schools is that if all those students entered the public system it would collapse. And everyone is entitled to some degree of public funding for education. That is a human right.

As far as car companies go I completely agree with you but it seems the unions are the reason why that area is so propped up. Manufacturing in Australia is pretty screwed. I'd much prefer funds diverted to developing Australia to be the food bowl of the world. But that won't happen under a labor government as there are no unions involved in farming.

Of course the simple solution is to lift the gst to 12.5%...it is clearly only a matter of time as it's arguably the most palatable way to increase government income.

Libs could then manage us back into a small surplus and a tight efficient government.
The socialists would continue to pee it all up against the best voting wall.. and blame something/anything when they again faced the electorate with empty coffers.
Either way it might generate some infrastructure spending that would prop up some of the blue collar unemployment arising from the mining boom ending.

Pretty fair tool the gst .. even those on welfare have to pay gst on their ciggies beer video's and nappies.

GST is the fairest tax of all, a tax on consumption that everyone pays. I think putting it up to 12.5% would be a good idea.

My home team Sunderland appointed a new Italian manager that was accused of being a fascist. The papers were full of it, fans were going crazy about it etc He won 2 games including beating arch rivals Newcastle 3-0 now they love him and chant his name at the games.

Are you talking about Rugby League or soccer? If the former then I know nothing about it. If the latter then the mentality of soccer fans escapes me (present company excluded. )

Never said I was offended though did I? However, the intent of the word is to offend someone. I just pointed out to the person who posted it the difference between the use of the word fascist and socialist. Thanks for the advice. . The word fascist has no place in Australian politics.
