As Pushka noted, it was a joke hvr, perhaps my use of emoticons is slipping

At 6, she's probably a little too young to start arguing political policies against Swan and Garrett ;)

If she can add up she's light years ahead of Swan. "Mmm this policy will cost $20B and the cupboard is bare. Better still sprout that we'll achieve a budget surplus." :D

Reading some article saying all you old people going to the doctors and keeping yourselves alive is pushing up the deficit... ;)

At least most of the oldies have put quite a bit into the system, there's plenty on the public tit that have contributed SFA... ;)

Yes. Shame on us. Plus it means we will get older and start using our super funds in retirement. Shame on us for doing that as there is no CGT or other investment tax for them to get their grubby hands on. Oh wait, Swanny has a plan for that.

Next months budget will be carefully drafted to hit up all those who won't be voting for Labor.
Very few voters will be missed as their support base has been trashed as Julia dreams about spending more dollars on unfunded thought bubbles.
The Carbon Tax is now looming as one of the worst ideas ever and it has put manufacturing in Australia into their very own recession. Now that is the stupidest idea that Ross Garnaut has ever come up with and none of his other stuff has ever worked either.

We live in a boom State of Western Australia and some things over here are quite crazy. Over in manufacturing land it is quite ugly. We still make hundreds of items in South Australia and our molders are having a very tough time and other than a change of Government I really cannot see a solution.

Yes and it will be drafted so that if Abbot reverses any of the measures they can accuse him of helping the rich not the Aussie battler

Abbott back on the 7:30 report tonight. Here is what happened last time.

So what will a change of government do to help the molders?

We will have to wait and see.
The Carbon Tax has really hurt Australian manufacturing and it works like a negative tariff so it makes Australian goods more expensive right at a time when the Aussie Dollar had gone up so it was foul timing. None of our old school would give Ross Garnaut a friendly smile due to the BS policies he developed. None of his plans has ever worked.

Garnault is an economist. Hardly an expert in the environment. And we all know they never agree on anything. Just look at the predictions each month for the RBA interest rate cuts.

Thanks for the heads up. Watched it - great interview.

It was just wonderful to hear a leader talk & not be bombarded with spin/vomit like - labor values, working families, I'll fight, I'll see this through, I'm tough, It's Kevin's fault, It's the GFC, It's everyones else's fault....not mine.

He has the hallmark of a great PM.

Yes but with the Labour Carbon plan it will actually costs less once a ETS is adopted, if current EU Carbon price hold up. :p
The Liberal plan favours direct action, which businesses now say will cost jobs! lol

Who cares what Labour thinks or does they are dead in the water, and I am very glad about that. It's about time the boot was on the right foot not the left I am sick and tired of that woman, not because she is a woman but because she is absolutely hopeless

Errm ... if current EU prices hold up it's not gunna provide enough revenue to cover the planned Gillard government spending ...

There were budgeting $29 per tonne ... 'tis currently $4 ...

Yes. The European fall in carbon price isn't holding up at all. Whatmeworry, did you even see the news coverage this week? I think you need to change your user name and start.

If it stays like this, doesn't it have to be one of the great cough* ups... Not that they haven't given it a good crack at one cough* up after another, but this one will stay in the mind as the crowning one for a while...

If you wanted to write a really stupid policy you would struggle to come up with something like this one!!
