"Flybe Finland is to fly as an affiliate member of oneworld[SUP]®[/SUP], the leading quality global airline alliance, on routes it operates on behalf of alliance member Finnair.
The arrangement takes effect from Sunday (28 October), when Finnair is transferring its 12 Embraer 190 regional jets to Flybe Finland to operate on behalf of Finnair on select routes at select times, to destinations in Europe including Budapest, Manchester, Munich and Warsaw.
Flybe Finland already operates a number of domestic and Baltic routes on behalf of Finnair, including between its Helsinki hub and Joensuu, Ivalo, Kittilä, Kuopio, Kuusamo, Rovaniemi, Oulu, Tallinn, Tampere, Turku and Vaasa."

Is Flybe to AY what JQ is to QF?

Not really, I had thought that flybe were jointly owned by AirFrance and Finnair but it appears I was wrong in that, it looks like it is owned by Rosedale Aviation (69%), employees (16%) and BA (AIG, 15%). (http://ownershipmatters.co.uk/wiki/index.php5?title=Flybe_Group_Ltd)

Flybe do carry out some maintenance on behalf of Finnair but this announcement relates to another company which is jointly owned by Finnair and Flybe, just using the flybe prefix which will no doubt cause a lot of confusion. Perhaps more of a relationship that is similar to QF and Air Pacific.

I can only see this as causing confusion with travellers from different parts of the world. For example I recently flew from Helsinki to Ireland via MAN. The HEL-MAN was with Finnair and I had lounge access on both legs (HEL-MAN vv). I then flew MAN-IRL with flybe, and I had no lounge access. Under this new arrangement the HEL-MAN and MAN-IRL will both be flown by an airline called flybe, whether that be in the standalone or Nordic flavour. What happens to lounge access, SC and FFpts then?.

I have had suspicions about the HEL-MAN route for a while.

It was the route that AY recently trialled its BOB menu from to not particularly great results (My flight was tied into a East Asian ticket - thus I get the lunch box at least).

I've also been told it is traditionally the most expensive intra-European route.

To add to the confusion, I flew EDI-LSI-ABZ on a BA ticket, operated by Loganair, on Flybe metal (Saab 340) a couple of years ago. No idea where Flybe Finland fits in in the scheme of things.

Restarting this thread, has anyone flown a Flybe Finland operated (but AY2xx_ numbered) Embraer 190? My AY mainline A321 has been subbed for my booking next month.

3 years ago flew an AY E170 and an E190.in my TR are pics of the E170.Really no difference between the 2 with seating.Post 18 shows the seats,post 20 the menu then for Y-
