so i think this is a decent one.

Minneapolis to Dallas/FW

AA, One way in first $285 AUD

According to QF website its 90SC

Flight time is 2:36

3.16 /SC

Assuming this is just a two-class First/Economy plane, First earns at J rates so should be 60SC.

Yes, I had a number of First bookings last year which credited as Business. I believe I could have pursued a credit at the original status but Didn't need to create a fuss over lost SCs

A very good value fair can be obtained in J with BA between LHR & LUX.
Return LHR-LUX with a 2 night stay for around $305 and 80 SCs
Return LUX-LHR for $250 and 80 SCs

Nest the two trips and you bag 160 SCs for around $555 or < 3.5 SC/$

Interesting - I live in KL and MH fares are pretty expensive. Im currently doing runs on Sri Lanka Air from KL to CMB to DBX return business for $1300 approx and 320 SC. MH return to DBX is around $1k (economy).

How about a few nights (minimum of 2) in the Balearic Islands?

Flying out of LGW here's an example worth 200 SCs for less than $450. Also try MAH.

Plenty of dates available but quite a few flights require a stopover in MAD....not such a bad thing.

Some of these fares actually got cheaper overnight.

The fares seem to be available over Christmas and the new year.

If my calculations are right the best destinations are Colombo, Delhi and Shanghai.

I realise that there are a lot of destinations listed but it would be good if you could add the status credits next time too as it's in that thread. That would be a big help.

I generally recommend looking at J class Iberia when in Europe. London aside, most locations do only get served into Madrid so you have to change there (but in all seriousness, a few hours in that Iberia lounge certainly is not a burden...) and they often price it accordingly so you get a decent amount of status credits at a relatively reasonable price.

Often, you can even book open jaw at the same price which in itself can safe you lots of money (and time) when exploring Europe plus you get some time in beautiful Spain, who could ever complain about that! I myself love including a little side trip to LPA Gran Canaria (I absolutely love the trashy never-changing gay scene and the nude beach in Maspalomas, besides the round the year good weather guarantee which is hard to get in Europe) but similar prices can be easily found for the Balearic Islands or the other Canaries like Tenerife etc. I usually end up with something around €380 (about 600 Aussie $) and 4x60 = 240 SCs. Not the very best status run out here but again, you get to interrupt your German/British/Dutch rain with some Spanish sun and earn a decent amount of SCs. And Iberia on those short inner European routes is quite decent service-wise, you usually get a proper hot meal service plus plenty of good Spanish wines, no complains there.

It's not strictly a status run, I guess, but Qantas has launched a premium fare sale to the US with HNL ex-SYD $2999 return in J. Even better: HNL ex-PER for a stupidly ridiculously cheap $300 more! I make that 42k QFF points and 440 SCs (for a Platinum). Throw in another 3k points for booking on an appropriate card and you've got a coast-to-coast-return and an east coast getaway to the value of at least $600 (ex taxes on the redemption, of course).

Travel period is 16 January to 1 April.

Noticed over on FT, FJ J WLG to SFO for $3700.

It actually has an NZ flight WLG to CHC. Starting in CHC I saw some dates CHC-NAN-SFO (ret) for A$3550 (!). Book QF J SYD-CHC (on EK A380) and earn 600 SCs for sub $5k.

Did finish last night, I was having a gander at PER-MEL-SYD-NOU for around $1500 in J. However this price has been advertised in the past so will hopefully come again (and hopefully aligned with a DSC promo...)

Managed to get that using a DSC GV for about $1100 earlier this year.
