Overnight Transit ADL Airport

At this stage I am planning on arriving at 9:45pm and departing early at 6:35am.

I know airport closes early but wondering on any suggestions of what to do if I want to avoid staying in a hotel.

I will have hand luggage only. Is Casino an option? Can I stay at the airport? Any cheap motels close by?

ADL is pretty limited for 24 hour places.

1) Casino like you said
2) Uh.. Vili's cafe?
3) Coles Supermarkets open at midnight...

If avoiding accommodation then Casino is probably the best bet. Compared to Crown or the Treasury the food is terrible, but worth checking out the cafeteria - the best I can liken it to is Holly's Restaurant which used to be in Kmarts.

The casino could be more expensive than a 5* hotel . When the casino first opened in Adelaide in late 1985, I was living there, and one day, we had to borrow money for the bus ride home:shock:

The Airport Motel is left at the lights as you leave the airport; could be ideal for you? (never stayed myself - but it's literally right outside the door!)

Which day of the week and when when you be there ?

If you like living dangerously, Hindley Street could be an eye opener.

As Joshua mentioned - Cafe De Vilis could be an option. It is open 24/7. It has a wide variety of food and drinks. The toilets are a bit :shock:

It will be a Thursday night in January.

The casino could be more expensive than a 5* hotel .

I am kind of used to it by now.

Some of the schooners of beer I have purchased in my lifetime have cost $100's. :-|

Some good suggestions there. Could head into casino for a few hours. I could stay up playing pokies quite easily but make sure I do not have too much cash on me.

Personally I'd be trying to find someone generous enough to let me use a spare bed, or at least a quiet lounge room for the night.

The casino is ok and would be my choice but I'd end up spending a tonne. The Pancake Kitchen and Vili's are ok for a while but I couldn't imagine trying to stay at either of them for the whole night. Vili's isn't far from the city, but its not in the city so if you go there (and it is pretty good) you'd be up for another cab fair someone else if you get bored, which is very likely given its a cafe in an industrial area. At least if you went to the casino you could spend a few hours then walk to the pancake kitchen for a decent enough coffee before heading to the airport in time for the lounge to open.

Hindley St would be recommended if you want either a laugh, to shake your head in despair, or get stabbed - you may not get to choose! Or a strip club lol

You could rent the cheapest car from the airport and sleep in it without leaving the carpark

You could also walk over to the Vickers Vimy building and sleep rough under comparative shelter.

If going into town the J1 bus will get you close to the casino, hindley st and pancake kitchen for $5. Or you could go the other way and get to Glenelg and sleep on the beach.

I've stated in the Airport motel back in 1999 when moving to South Australia. It was ok. I was also stupid enough to try the in room spa.

I had thought of this earlier. Extremely cheap sleep for the night.

I need to decide what I am doing quickly.
