Let's say I found a great deal, which then turned out to be a glitch in the upgraded system, do you think/know if Virgin would ask for the real payment to be made when/if they found the error?
On the flip side, would Virgin refund if it turns out that those seemingly over-inflated connecting flights were purchased before any review that then lowered the price?

Given airline pricing can change daily and that you would have completed the transaction, I'm guessing that it would be somewhat difficult to force you to pay the difference - for instance, the average person might assume that it is a cheap 'sale' fare and be none the wiser.

Likewise with more expensive fare, you accepted the price at the time of purchase by completing the transaction so it may be difficult to get a refund, unless perhaps the price was absurd and completely unreasonable

They could potentially cancel the ticket, however I would think given the inconvenience experienced by many over the past few days they may let it slide as a 'gesture of goodwill'

Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer.

I don't believe they could ask you to pay more or cancel the fare for reasons outside of the normal T&C's. The price on the website was an 'invitation to treat', by proceeding with the sale process, you made an 'offer' to which VA 'accepted', thereby creating a legally binding contract, subject to the terms and conditions accepted and agreed by both parties.

Just do and and then tell us all about it once you have secured the deal for yourself
