I've just had to change a status-run itinerary from 2 x Qantas sectors to 1 x Jetstar, due to the Qantas flights being cancelled by Qantas. Plat agent, who was quite confident and sounded knowledgable about QFF (including status runs šŸ˜Ž), said I would get ORCs for the now-Jetstar leg, although I might have to call.

I wasn't aware of ORCs being granted if you are bumped onto JQ, although I guess in theory it should. Is it usual, or will I have to fight, do you think? Agent said they had put a note into the booking saying I was a reluctant JQ pax and SCs were wanted for the journey.

You're very game even thinking about flying anywhere. I don't know the answer to your question though - sorry

You can request ORC regardless of which airline you are rebooked on but you will need to proactively request it.

Prior to covid, being rebooked on another alliance usually meant you could double-dip by crediting to a *A or ST program while also requesting ORC on QFF.

Best email for this in my experience so you can attach a PDF of your original itinerary, a PDF of the email advising your booking has changed, and I usually include a breakdown of expected SC especially if the booking was eligible for DSC.

I don't know if you can request the Qantas points you would've been entitled to but you could certainly try.

If you are lucky, you might even earn some SC for the JQ leg....

I had to make an ORC claim in the last few weeks.

I emailed in much the same way as @sudoer has described but the email went unanswered for a fortnight.

I then called one morning as soon as the FF service centre opened and it was resolved same day, including a follow up call from the same agent later in the day to check I could see the SC in my account.

So Iā€™d endorse the email advice, but be prepared to call too.

Sometimes it is just better to take the re-routed flights and smile.....
QF rescheduled ASP-ADL-Per Red-Edeal fare with an impossible connection
The only alternative was ASP-DRW-PER..... in standard economy..... ie flex fare class....

I will leave the calculations as an exercise in understanding the QF status credit system....
When back home will I continue to plan wandering

Hope you have better luck next time Fredā€¦

How did you go with this ORC @RooFlyer? Appreciate a lot has likely changed since then.

Mrs Excel and I booked U to HBA and from LST, both of which have been bumped to 717s with no J, so the proposed offer is economy in X. Wondering if we can request ORC based on PC difference between X and U.

I just got moved today, without a call from Syd-Mel-Per to Syd-Per, only realised when I got an email and my app updated, strange as the flight left earlier.

As Iā€™m PC, I needed the extra SC to attain gold, to add to the complexity itā€™s also DSC eligibleā€¦. Wish me luck! Going to call tomorrow after sending an email when I land.

I have had to chase up an ORC for a flight back in March. I emailed the FF centre and they responded that I had already received the status credits (?) . So I had to call them 3 times already and am on the phone to them again as I write this. So frustrating even getting someone on the phone who even understands what an ORC is. The previous agent this morning after fluffing around for over 30 minutes then put me through to reservations (?) so I have called back for the fourth time, this agent also appears to not know what to do and wants to put me through to reservations. How the heck do you speak to someone at Qantas who can resolve your issue? The second agent has now hung up on me!!
